Marbled Red Flesh ilama seeds

Pre Stored and Aged for approximately 9 months
(which greatly improves germination rates)
Ready for Planting Now!

A stunning deep red tart outer flesh fades through pink to a creamy white sweet pulp surrounding the seeds. The fruit has a delightful taste like a tropically-infused raspberry cheesecake with an intriguing light and fluffy texture like a whipped dessert or mousse!

This is a unique ilama originating from a single tree found at an old planted lot in Sarasota. The mother tree may be over 20 years old! The tree produces fruit without another tree locally and so plants grown from these seeds will turn out producing fruit nearly identical to those of the mother tree. Seedlings can fruit in as little as 3 years but usually more like 4-6 for fruiting. Seems to handle chill better than many other ilama varieties!

To sow the seeds: Soak overnight (try to get them to sink - warm water helps) sow in planting mix about 1/4' down, pressing the seeds into a tray works nicely. Keep moist. Sprouts may come up in as little as a week or in a few months and may sprout at different times.
